Dr Mohamed bin Awang Lah, 67 years, Managing Director of MY.NeuTrans. Prior to establishing MY.NeuTrans in 2011, he was the Chief Executive Officer of JARING Communications Sdn Bhd from 2002 to 2010. He was one the key movers in setting-up of MIMOS (Malaysian Institute of Microelectronic Systems) in 1985, holding various positions – Director of Computer Systems, Vice President and Senior Vice President (MIMOS Berhad). He was a lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya from 1980 to 1984 after completing his Doctorate Degree at the University of London King’s College. Dr Mohamed is also a recipient of two Honorary Doctorate Degrees. Dr Mohamed is acknowledged as the person who initiated internet services in Malaysia; through his personal experiments in 1983 to a pilot project in 1986 and the launching of JARING in 1992. He was the first chairman (2008) of the Malaysia Internet Provider Association, which runs MYIX services (domestic Internet exchange). He was a Senate Member of Open University of Malaysia (OUM) until 2017. Currently, he is the Chairman of UNITEN R&D Sdn Bhd and a Fellow of Academy of Science Malaysia (ASM).

Dr Mohamed has 30 year-experience in the industry of which 15 years was in Top Management in the lead agencies (MIMOS and JARING) of the industry. Dr Mohamed understands very well the internet services industry he helped create, the dynamics and relationship of stakeholders, the pushers and movers of the industry, as well as the policymakers, needs of the people and interests of the Government. He is always at the forefront of new initiatives and leads common-interest groups to work together for the betterment of all.
